Castle peninsula, two main beaches and a working harbour
Central Alanya grew around the rocky castle peninsula, with Keykubat waterfront to the east and the Cleopatra/Damlataş side to the west.
The historic core is unusually compact: Alanya Castle rises above the harbour, while the Red Tower and Seljuk Shipyard sit at sea level. On the west foot of the peninsula, Damlataş Cave and Cleopatra Beach make it easy to combine sightseeing with a swim.
